Balloon Twisting Instructions

YouTube

These days, the best place to learn balloon twisting is on YouTube. This certainly isn't an exhaustive list, but below are some of my favorite YouTube channels that I think you ought check out.

Michael Floyd

Michael Floyd's channel, Balloon Animals, is one of the most popular balloon-related channels on YouTube. Chances are that if you've already taken a look at some of the twisters out there, you've seen more than a few of his videos. Notably, he has a very slow, patient style that is perfect for newcomers. He also has a  playlist specifically for new twisters who don't have any experience.

Holly Hopper

Holly Hopper is another popular YouTube creator, and one I specifically recommend to people who are newer to twisting. Her style is slow and deliberate, much like Michael Floyd. Specifically, Holly has a lot of really cute animal designs.

Cody Williams

Mr. Fudge

Cody Williams, or unicaw89, has a huge library of tutorials for many designs. Unlike Holly Hopper and Michael Floyd, however, his videos can be very fast paced and are NOT geared toward absolute beginners. Still, even if you are new to twisting, you'd do yourself a disservice by not checking out his channel.

Mr. Fudge ("your balloon man"), has a large library of videos available. He doesn't post many new designs these days, but it's worth checking out what he has. Be warned: while his designs are really cool, he moves VERY fast while teaching. As a new twister, this can get very frustrating. Like with Cody Williams, however, you should check out his channel once you've got the basics down.

Clayton James

Clayton James, or ChiTwister, also has an extensive library of balloon tutorials available. Depending on your learning style, his videos may or may not be ideal for beginners; he doesn't speak in his videos, instead twisting silently to music. His videos are also sped up a bit, allowing you see the design made at a quicker pace. Experienced twisters will have no problem following along, though brand new twisters might have some trouble. Side fact: Clayton is the founder of the popular Facebook Group, Balloon Twister Central.

Scott Tripp

Scott Tripp doesn't actually do straight tutorials, but instead hosts a semi-regular show called The Balloon Blast Video Show, with his co-host Sam Cremeens. When you have the time, go back and watch all the old episodes of this cult-classic balloon twister show. You'll be happy you did.

Jerome Santucci

Jerome Santucci, or Mr. Boma's Balloons, as he is known on YouTube, posts new tutorials semi-regularly. His designs are usually a little more elaborate than what you'll do at a birthday party or festival, but they're always really cool. Additionally, Jerome curates several MASSIVE playlists containing balloon tutorials from all over YouTube.

Scott Kazan

Scott Kazan has a bunch of great videos. He posts tutorials, as well as balloon business advice.

Bauldy The Clown

When not meticulously tending to his eyebrows, Bauldy The Clown makes balloon twisting tutorials on YouTube. Check them out, and be sure to let him now how his eyebrows look.

Mot Buchanan

While Mot Buchanan hasn't uploaded any new videos in a long time (as of this writing, anyway), his back catalog of tutorials is well worth a look. There are some great things in there.

Balloon Distractions

Balloon Distractions is a very controversial company in the balloon twisting world. I won't get in to it all here, suffice it to say that the consensus among balloon twisters is that they are an untrustworthy company that exploits its workers. All that said, they actually have a really cool YouTube channel with a bunch of great tutorials.

Matt The Balloon Man

Saving the best for last? Well, no. Actually, this is my YouTube channel for balloon tutorials. I don't have a lot of tutorials, and I don't update that frequently, but I'm going to go ahead and give myself a shout out anyway because this is my website!

Other Sources of Instructions

BalloonClick

BalloonClick.com is a subscription based balloon twisting website run by Ken Stillman. There's a free level with a lot of great videos (including some great "intro to balloon twisting" stuff) as well as a paid level with more advanced designs.

Few Do It

Thanks to reader, Helen, for this great site. Few Do It has a fantastic library of beginner designs. While some of the designs seem to be a little outdated, there are actually quite a few really fun, usable designs here!
